Workers Compensation Paralegal

Description

We are seeking a Paralegal to join the legal team of a law firm located in NORWICH, Connecticut. This role involves supporting an attorney and handling various tasks related to case preparation. The position will require you to collect and organize medical and employment records, conduct legal research, and communicate with clients and other relevant parties. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Gather and organize medical and employment records for case preparation

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case development

• Assist in the preparation for hearings, including preparing witnesses and gathering necessary evidence

• Handle communication with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical providers efficiently and professionally

• Utilize various software and tools including Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Excel

• Manage calendars and administer claims effectively

• Handle complaints professionally and in a timely manner

• Apply knowledge of Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Law to support case preparation and management

• Maintain organized notes and records to ensure seamless information retrieval and case progression.

Requirements - Possession of strong proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for document management and editing.

• Demonstrated experience with Case Management Software for efficient tracking and handling of legal cases.

• Proficiency in LexisNexis for legal research and case preparation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Experience with Calendar Management for scheduling meetings, deadlines, and court appearances.

• Strong skills in Claim Administration to effectively manage and process claims.

• Proven ability in Complaint Handling to resolve client grievances and disputes.

• Experience with Workers Compensation and understanding of related laws and regulations.

• Knowledge of Workers Compensation Law to assist in case preparation and representation.

• Understanding of Personal Injury Law and experience in litigating personal injury cases.

• Proficiency in Personal Injury Litigation, including case preparation, negotiation, and representation in court.
