    The Investment Grade Credit team within BlackRock's Fundamental Fixed Income platform is seeking a Quantitative Developer passionate about both technology and finance. The role focuses on developing cutting-edge Python-based software that enhances alpha-generation and investment platform scalability. Sitting within and reporting into the Investment Grade Credit Team, the technologist will work alongside a best-in-class portfolio management team responsible >$100bn in assets across active Investment Grade strategies. The role will include frequent interactions and collaboration with the Global Credit Research and Trading teams.

    Responsibilities:

    • Engage in a dynamic partnership with portfolio managers to translate investment challenges into technological solutions, building on Aladdin infrastructure.

    • Actively contribute to the IG team's investment process. Proactively lead technological developments and projects that will translate to enhanced risk-adjusted investment performance.

    • Collaborate with the technology teams across BlackRock and Aladdin engineering to ensure seamless integration of new data & technological developments into the IG team's tech stack.

    • Own the oversight, deployment & management of the IG team's technology stack.

    • Stay at the forefront of software engineering, continuously integrating best practices and innovative approaches into our development processes.

    • Uphold the highest standards of software quality, ensuring reliability and peak performance.

    • Oversee the lifecycle of our applications, focusing on deployment, documentation, rigorous testing, and maintaining coding excellence.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

    • 4-8 years of relevant experience in the asset management or financial industry.

    • A drive to challenge the conventional, with the purpose of developing innovative investment solutions.

    • Exceptional communication skills & the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

    • An in-depth understanding of statistical principles coupled with the proficiency to apply them to practical scenarios in the real world.

    • Expertise in design patterns and object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++), with a strong command of data analysis techniques.

    • In-depth understanding of relational databases, including SQL proficiency. Experience with building and managing data pipelines.

    • Proficiency with version control systems, particularly AzureDO.

    • A foundational understanding of finance and investment management, with a quantitative analyst mindset. Proficiency in basic concepts of fixed income markets preferred but not necessary.

    For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 - $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
