    In collaboration with the President and CMO of the hospital, the CNO develops, approves, and oversees the implementation of policies, procedures, standards of care and practice that provide direction for the delivery of patient care. The CNO will direct activities that support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements; create processes that support dissemination of data and information to leadership team and staff; Collects comprehensive data pertinent to issues, situations and trends. The officer will identify expected outcomes for issues, staffing, practice and documents expected outcomes as measurable goals; consider factors related to safety, reliability effectiveness, impact on practice, cost, and resources in delivery of nursing care.

    The CNO will provide leadership in professional practice setting as a team builder, team player and lead with flexibility through times of challenge. The CNO will serve in key roles regarding nursing practice, represent nursing to medical-executive team, board of trustees, executive leadership and others as well as assume accountability for overall management of nursing practice, nursing education, professional development, nursing research, nursing administration and nursing services wherever delivered in the organization.

    The CNO has the following duties and responsibilities

    Professional Experience/Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to build THR's culture for action.

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required and

    • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or master's degree in related field required.

    • Minimum 3-5 years senior level experience overseeing hospital wide nursing services with an emphasis on Magnet or Pathways to Excellence implementation required or 5 plus years' experience, at director level or above, managing multiple units or clinical disciplines with budget and productivity responsibilities required.

    • Knowledge of nursing management, quality improvement, financial analysis, process & planning, strategic planning principles, nursing standards of care and practice, ethical principles and nursing and healthcare trends.

    • Must have Texas RN license upon hire.

    • Certified Nursing Administration license preferred upon hire.
