  • Overview

    Technical writers build / write documentation and ensure that it meets users' needs. They align with corporate content and usability standards. Effective, complete and well-thought-out documentation reduces the cost of support by avoiding tickets, reducing incidents, and accelerating access to the knowledge that teams need to resolve incidents quickly and develop efficiently. Our documentation is currently distributed across multiple sources and does not follow a consistent set of standards. In addition, there is a large scope of it that is incomplete, out of date, and in some cases - inaccurate.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, Organize, write, and edit technical procedures, manuals, and technical documents.

    • Experience working in a technical writing field.

    • Assist with developing comprehensive documentation that's in alignment with organizational standards.

    • Able to write in a clear, concise manner.

    • Request, collect, and organize data from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

    • Adhere to style guide and quality of instruction standards.

    • Conduct self-reviews and peer reviews for grammar, style, standards, and formatting.

    • Obtain feedback to improve technical documents.

    • Track document activity to ensure timeliness and process efficiency.

    • Proficiency in MS Office

    • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.

    • Produce user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into a language that sets users up for success.

    • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary.

    • One or more years of relevant experience

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience delivering technical documentation

    • Excellent written English skills

    • Familiarity with support documentation and/or knowledgebase articles

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or the equivalent preferred
