  • Aston Carter's client, a leading CPG company in Chicago, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join the Procurement Team.

    Purchasing Specialist Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or other related fields

    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, specifically in a supply chain management environment

    • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively as part of a team on multiple projects.

    Responsibilities

    • The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for supporting sourcing and negotiating efforts and coordinating with suppliers

    • Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities: - Create purchase orders for materials, products, and services based on internal department needs

    • Ensure purchase orders are accurate and include all necessary information, such as quantity, unit price, and delivery date

    • Verify that purchase orders align with budget and quality standards

    • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm purchase order details and resolve any discrepancies

    • Monitor purchase order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery

    • Maintain purchase order records and update the internal database or procurement software accordingly

    • Negotiate contracts and prices with vendors to ensure the best value

    • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials

    • Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to improve quality and efficiency

    • Analyze market trends and keep up to date on industry developments
