    THE PURCHASING TEAM

    The purchasing team manages all equipment and materials purchases for both job sites and corporate expenditures. This includes vetting vendors and establishing and maintaining relationships with new and loyal suppliers.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

    Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

    Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

    The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing strategies for assigned categories of spend. This will include managing supply base, owning supplier relationships, defining the category and supply base strategy, management and negotiation of engagement, and related contractual execution activities. The ideal candidate is high energy/impact with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. The Strategic Sourcing Manager has the demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications.

    Contractual Execution: Your responsibilities will include negotiating and executing master supply agreement and specific contract, as well as the development of negotiation strategy and approach, acceptable terms and conditions and lead the negotiation through to closure.

    Supplier Relationships: The candidate will establish supplier selection criteria and evaluate suppliers with business control and cross-functional partners. Manage overall supplier relationships. Own the interface to and lead engagement with supplier activities.

    Supply Base Strategy: You will develop and implement sourcing strategy and approach to meet financial, technical, and operational requirements. Responsibilities will include presenting RF(x) results and lead the evaluation process with internal teams. Award and officially close with a sourcing decision. Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue . Own spend data that feeds into the total cost of ownership (TCO) models. Initiate and lead cost and budget projection. Measure, report, and execute cost improvement on a regular basis.

    ABOUT YOU

    With over 5 years of experience in sourcing and experience in the electrical construction industry, you bring solid quantitative and analytical skills. In addition to your experience, your technical skillset includes knowledge of eProcurement systems, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. A natural at working efficiently in a team setting, you are a key driver in supporting change management within an organization.

    WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

    As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will gain exposure to all the moving parts of Cupertino Electric's procurement process and strategy. You will develop the procurement strategy, along with Procurement Management team, through active engagement with other functional teams. In this role, you will partner with internal stakeholders to define acceptable terms and conditions (pricing, flexibility, quality, compliance, delivery, payment, warranty, and service). With your experience, you play an important role in benchmarking industry to monitor technology trends and incorporate best practices and supporting Supplier Business Review (SBR) to drive continuous supplier improvement.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

    Education: BA/BS required.

    Licensure/Certifications: None required.

    Experience : Typically requires a minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree in sourcing or related disciplines; or 3 years and a Masters degree. Experience in technology and supplier evaluation/selection, cost modeling, contract negotiations, and supply management. Experience working closely with supply chain functions and hardware engineering in high complexity products development and fulfillment. Experience articulating points of view with executive management and influence all levels.
