We are seeking an experienced and talented Sr. Soil Technician to join our Southern California team for our Rancho Cucamonga office. This is a non-exempt position.
This is a great opportunity to develop a career in the field of soil sampling and testing. Work with a team of skilled professionals to perform field assignments while enjoying the outdoor environment.
Responsibilities:
Observation and testing of contractors' work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects
Nuclear density testing
Operation of various types of field equipment (e.g., reporting and mapping software, survey level, nuclear density gauge, etc.)
Completion of field documentation in a timely manner, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field reports, field notes, soil, concrete, and asphalt datasheets, monitoring, and chain-of-custody forms
Review, understand and interpret project plans and specifications, shop drawings, product data and RFIs
Perform scheduled tests, observations, and inspections in accordance with applicable test procedures and project requirements
Assist with field testing to gather data for engineering, hydrogeologic, and scientific evaluations
Prepare reports, maps and other illustrations to document and summarize project data
Observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
5+ years of active field experience on mass grading and post grading operations
Have a basic understanding of soil engineering and mechanics
Must have a knowledge of general earthwork and grading specifications
Must have a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle to commute to job sites and for going off-road on undeveloped job sites
Ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Certifications:
American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 Certification
Caltrans Certifications: CTM 125, 216, 231, 375, 504, 518, 523, 533, 539 and 540
