Sr. Java Software Engineer (Remote)

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a Sr. Java Software Engineer to provide their software solutioning skills to our Department of Veteran Affairs client. This is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

• Evaluates, sizes and selects technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.

• Develops, maintains, evaluates and documents administration of data base tools and strategies.

• Designs and implements data models and data access layers for new product functionality.

• Writes and tunes SQL queries for performance and scalability.

• Implements comprehensive backup and database replication solutions.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

• Experience designing and enhancing large-scale software applications.

• Experience with Java-based development.

• Java Eclipse IDE.

• Experience with Oracle SQL and relational databases.

• Experience with code version control (Git preferred).

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Proven ability to deliver work within time constraints.

• Effective organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
