    JOB SUMMARY

    Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for review and oversight of design engineering partners in support of client needs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Function as the owner's representative for coordination of all MEP and Telecom related issues throughout the life cycle of corporate real estate projects:

    • Coordinate with real estate teams to review and comment on leases for future client sites.

    • Review due diligence reports and visit potential project sites to provide scoping narratives for capital budgeting.

    • Produce RFPs for selection of design partners. Evaluate consulting engineering and commissioning design partners for selection on projects.

    • Review and comment on engineering design drawings against client design standards and practices. Attend project and page turn meetings.

    • Interview bidding contractors for construction of projects. Value engineer engineering drawings. Support engineering design partners with submittal and RFI review. Facilitate resolution of field conditions. Review contract change requests from contractors against contract documents.

    • Directs integration of technical activities and products.

    • Evaluates and approves design changes.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. 10 years of professional experience as a consulting engineering or commissioning engineer.

    Demonstrated ability to prepare commissioning execution plans for new projects.

    Deep understanding of HVAC principles and design including equipment, distribution, controls and critical infrastructure.

    Excellent communication skills.

    CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

    Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS

    Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

    FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

    Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations of significance to the operation.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

    Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
