About Albemarle Energy Storage/ Lithium

Albemarle is seeking an experienced natural resource professional to lead our Mining Resource Development and Planning team. The role will have responsibility for Albemarle's lithium resources strategy, resource life of asset planning, and early-stage conceptual studies to grow and sustain our lithium mining business.

The Resource Development and Planning leader will be required to have a detailed understanding of mining and natural resource operations, integrated asset planning practices, acquisitions and divestments, resource valuations, concept and pre-feasibility studies, and business improvement methodologies. The role will work with global operational, technical, project and functional peer groups to innovate, problem solve and deliver against key strategic and operational objectives.

This position is a part of the lithium resources organization and will report to the VP Resources with close working partnerships across the resources leadership team. The role will be based in our Charlotte, NC headquarters and have a global team.

JOB SUMMARY:

? Supports sustainability and government advocacy inherent to our global growth agenda.

? Monitors external and internal environment for new market entrants and resource opportunities.

? Assists in developing Albemarle's brand in the resources sector at key industry events.

? Identifies new technologies and resource industry trends by researching industry events, publications, and announcements, tracking contributors and their accomplishments.

? Develops and manages relationships with potential partners and key stakeholders.

? Advocates for a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Has ownership of, and responsibility for, the lithium resource development strategy for integration into the broader business planning processes.

? Leads resource life of asset planning practices for our global portfolio of existing assets and identifies, plans, and executes improvement opportunities.

? Leads a team of cross functional professionals in the successful identification of new organic and inorganic resource opportunities and/or partnerships, including development of detailed business cases for the most promising opportunities.

? Advocates for resource acquisitions and JV opportunities in collaboration with M&A and other functional teams; stepping into gaps that may need to be addressed.

? Brings natural resource transaction expertise to educate and ensure a full Albemarle enterprise approach to growth that balances risk and reward.

? Builds and maintains business cases for a pipeline of future asset expansions, and develops a database of operational, project and other relevant cost benchmarks.

? Ensures proper project controls and governance for early-stage concept studies and works collaboratively with capital projects to transition projects from concept to execution through the Albemarle project stage gate criteria.
