    Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer located at MacDill AFB, FL in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics' (SOF AT&L) Directorate of Science & Technology (Dir S&T).     Responsibilities Include:

    • As member of Dir S&T's Program Support Division, provide significant, expert level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements

    • Complete advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials

    • Apply advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks

    • Evaluate state-of-the-art scientific and environmental/engineering technologies and incorporate into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of applicable systems

    • Provide expert-level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution

    • Direct and coordinate engineering and maintenance programs and inform development of criteria for specialized critical system design

    • Expertly adjust technical support to meet emergencies, changing programs or production requirements within available resources and without sacrifice to completeness and accuracy

    • Work with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.

    • Direct engineering sufficiency review of assigned programs and projects until turnover

    • Support contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval; support budget control directly supporting the engineering effort

    • Provide decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies

    • Support technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs

    • Plan, execute, and document surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes

    • Analyze trends in performance indicators to assist government counterparts with managing Agency-level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes

    • Plan and program to support improvement and modernization, advanced strategic planning, marketing, and technical symposia; support management of the organization direct and reimbursable budget and verification of test program funds

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

    • Must be a US Citizen

    • Security Clearance Required: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

    • Master's degree in systems engineering or engineering management with 8 years of DoD acquisition experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • DAWIA Practitioner (formerly Level II) Equivalency in one of the following fields: Program Management; Engineering & Technical Management; or Test & Evaluation (T&E)

    • Expert knowledge of unique design requirements and functionality of grounded and ungrounded electrical systems

    • Expert knowledge in the integration of sensors, RADARs, and SOF-unique communications systems and an understanding of the integration of disparate command and control systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, or similar capability areas
