    The Senior Manufacturing Improvement Specialist (MIS) is responsible for the management of tasks and projects associated with process improvement and process engineering projects within the production area. Leverages data assets (SCADA, SAP, databases) to improve area performance over current performance. Responsible for managing and completing CAPAs that are originated as a result of investigations in the production area. Responsible for identifying preventive action opportunities not necessarily associated with investigations, but that during daily ~~~ an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers.     Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead cross-functional process improvement activities of prioritized production projects. Identify problems and formulate solutions for assigned production projects. Incorporate and apply process improvement tools.

    • Manage the timely completion of CAPA, deviations, planned deviations, change controls, idea workflows etc.

    • Facilitates the implementation of process change controls including monitoring the sustainability of the process change controls.

    • Develop and maintain appropriate KPIs/metrics to tract the effectiveness of process change controls and other applicable process improvement activities.

    • Serves in the project management role, leads project teams and individual SMEs, sets aggressive time lines and commitments, and keeps area management updated on project status.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, in scientific, engineering, or related field, and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar production site.

    • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

    • Ability to effectively identify and utilize resources to drive process improvements projects resulting in cost savings.

    • Demonstrated ability to define a problem, analyze and deliver cost saving solutions.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and influence cross functional teams; Strong team building required across functions, technical, and organizational levels.

    • Excellent presentation, technical business writing and oral communication skills.

    • Must be proficient in Office software, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Power Point.

    • Preference to proficiency in statistical tools.

    • Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks and assist leadership with implementing solutions to complex problems using the best available technology.

    • Approach complex assignments, projects and communicate plans in clear, concise and professional manner in verbal and written form.
