    Job Summary & Location

    The Senior Manager of Design Engineering manages, supports, and contributes to a 100% flowless product launch roadmap plan. Including engineering and pre-production builds at the facility, packaging, assembly instructions, building production cell layouts, and cycle times. They support short and long-term planning of NPI projects, ensure all incoming analytics meet specifications, and investigate root cause analysis of qualification/method failures. The Senior Manager of Design Engineering supports through method development activities leading up to GMP manufacture. They review and approve quality documentation qualifications while ensuring compliance with the required standards - and lead engineering documentation processes, including BOMs, to allocate company resources to address business needs.

    This position works on-site full-time from Oceanside, California.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Ensure QC qualification/validation activities align with business milestones, provide timely identification and escalation of at-risk milestones using business tools, e.g., Gantt charts, trackers, and risk assessments, and drive remediation or mitigation.

    • Assess the training level of methods and train out to NPI, stability as required.

    • Ensure specifications are in line with method and process capabilities. When appropriate, be able to work with the Sustaining Engineering Manager.

    • Guide, train, and mentor personnel within the department to ensure the correct level of knowledge and understanding of existing and new methodologies.

    • Leads and manages a BOM (Bill of Material) group to align their activities with the strategic goals of the company while ensuring that they continue to develop additional knowledge and skills.

    • Assist with the NPI design process, including production cell construction and layout, establishing cycle times, and supporting the design team as a local engineering liaison.

    • Leads a cross-functional group of personnel, including development and supply chain partners, to ensure the readiness of the entire organization to support new product introduction.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of related experience with automated BOM generation, developing new products, using MRP systems like Oracle and SAP, and leading cross-functional teams is required.

    • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is required.

    • Demonstrated expertise in electrical, mechanical, materials, quality, and industrial engineering best practices.

    • Knowledgeable of current electrical codes and standard work as practiced by electrical contractors.

    • Proficient in lean manufacturing principles, value stream mapping, and kaizen activities.

    • 3D/2D modeling experience is required (SolidWorks and AutoCAD are ideal).

    • Stay informed on current electrical codes and work standards practiced by electrical contractors in various locations.

    • Adobe Illustrator and Adobe ID experience is a plus.

    The range for this position is $93,500.00 to $175,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
