Senior Accountant

Description

We are searching for a Senior Accountant for our client, a very well capitalized, private equity backed company that is in high acquisition mode with a number of current nationwide targets. This Senior Accountant role will be actively involved with helping to build their best-in-class finance & accounting functions. Reporting to a talented Corporate Controller, this is a ground floor opportunity to support a high growth company achieve success as they are supported by a well-known private equity firm. As part of the duties for this exciting Senior Accountant role your responsibilities will include:

• Executing monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Assisting in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Preparing monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheets and flux analysis for management reporting

• Upholding company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests as required

• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Manage ad-hoc projects

• Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA or active CPA candidate is preferred

• 3 or more years of overall general accounting experience including month end close duties

• Experience from within the audit group of a Big 4 or other leading public accounting firm is desirable

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Ability to handle multiple projects within deadlines

• Proficient in ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle
