  • Overview

    Interstate Waste Services is the largest privately held, vertically integrated provider of solid waste collection, transfer, recycling, and disposal services serving the greater New York and New Jersey markets. We operate nearly 400 collection vehicles throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Northern and Central New Jersey, and Orange and Rockland County, New York; a network of 24 transfer and transload facilities; and a rail-served solid waste landfill in Amsterdam, Ohio.

    The Sales Analyst role will involve analyzing, evaluating, and reporting on sales, financial, and operational data. The Sales Analyst will collaborate with leaders in the sales and marketing team to help craft new business models, processes, and structures, along with optimizing pricing and revenue from existing customers. This is a newly created position and will report to the Director of Pricing.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare, review, and distribute monthly customer reporting including recycling diversion and rebates.

    • Create and utilize tools to validate proper commission payouts to the sales team, along with helping to evaluate the current commission plan structure to fit strategic goals.

    • Effectively communicate and execute specific recommendations for pricing and increased sales efforts.

    • Ensure timely identification and management of expiring contracts, facilitating their renewal process within the sales team.

    • Continuously evaluate and refine contract renewal processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Identify opportunities for automation or streamlining of tasks to reduce manual workload and enhance productivity.

    Qualifications

    Required experience and skills

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics

    • 2-5 years of professional experience

    • Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)

    • Experience with Power BI and/or QlikView a plus

    • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
