    DETAILS

    • Location: X's headquarters in Mountain View, CA

    • Start Date(s): Year-round rolling basis

    • Duration: a flexible 4 mo. to 1 year program based on project team needs and your availability

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be enrolled in an academic program and working towards completing an MBA (or Business) degree

    Responsibilities

    • Build strategies for commercialization of deep tech projects. This involves: market research, strategy development, business development, partnerships / competitors analysis, etc.

    • Work with internal and external domain experts to test validity of models and assumptions

    • Present findings to cross-functional project leadership to guide project and team strategy

    • Be open to other operational projects as needs arise in the team

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be located in the Bay Area, with the ability to travel to the X office multiple times per week

    • Current or former MBA student with a BA/BS in relevant science or engineering field

    • Collaborative, proactive team player

    • 2+ years of work experience in one or more of the following areas: management consulting, venture capital, deep tech product management

    • Very strong strategy and analytical skills. Ability to gather and analyze large quantities of information, and turn them into insightful business recommendations.

    • Good at problem stating and problem solving, and turning ambiguous problem spaces into radical solutions. Must be able to break down problems independently

    • Can-do attitude, willing to learn new tools and content to become an effective thought partner with project team

    • Excellent communication skills i.e experience writing strategy docs, experience delivering presentations, and a general openness to liaise with senior external partners

    Prefered Qualifications

    • Experience with photonics and chip design

    • Experience with AI & ML (especially state-of-the-art trends such as large language models, multimodal models, etc)

    • Experience with financial modeling

    • An ability to thrive on ambiguity, setting own goals and effectively delivering them in a fast-changing environment

    • Adept at influencing without authority, working cross-functionally with different teams in order to drive decision making

    • Motivated by making the world a better place through technology, and wanting to be part of a team that makes this happen. Excited to go deep and learn about new and experimental technologies.
