    Team Overview

    As an accounting and reporting professional focused on delivering financial regulatory reports, responsibilities include: analyzing internal and third party accounting provider data, understanding and enhancing controls ensuring accuracy of data delivered to investors and regulators, and implementing tactical technology solutions helping reporting workflow. In addition, the role ensures data being reported is aligned with relevant regulatory and accounting standards. Providing critical information to investors allows them to make better decisions concerning their future and this role is on the frontline ensuring investors get this information.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform analytical and quantitative reviews of various regulatory filings to ensure compliance with regulations and internal polices (For example: SEC Forms N-PORT, N-CEN, ADV and PF; CFTC Forms CPO-PQR, CTA-PR).

    • Enhance accounting data within financial regulatory reports to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards.

    • Research and communicate new and amended regulatory proposals to determine impact to BlackRock and its investment funds.

    • Analyze and improve performance of current reporting applications and related operational workflows, including implementation of new workflow tools.

    • Demonstrate business intelligence and big data analysis to analyze reporting trends to optimize and improve the existing regulatory reporting process.

    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal and external partners.

    • Be a self-starter and work with minimal direct supervision in a team environment.

    To ensure success, you will have the following qualifications and competencies:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Computer Science degree is a plus.

    • 0-3+ years of experience in public accounting, fund administration/accounting, compliance, or data analytics.

    • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards.

    • Knowledge of programming languages (such as Visual Basic/Python) and an understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) are beneficial.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively anticipate problems and opportunities and confidence to use initiative to pursue solutions.

    • Excellent attention to detail, as well as the ability to produces accurate work and spots mistakes/errors and makes appropriate corrections.

    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including ability to clearly articulate results of financial analyses as well as issues to leadership.

    • Self-motivated, determined to achieve goals and works hard to meet those goals. (Drive, Determination and Execution).

    • Takes ownership for outcomes and is personally accountable for results.

    • Effectively plans, implements, and develops a methodical approach to projects.
