    Your Opportunity

    Stantec is currently seeking a seasonal Regulatory Specialist to provide technical support on a variety of projects. This position will be part of Stantec's Water team providing the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of compliance activities for construction storm water management permitting requirements. Our Regulatory knowledge and expertise allow us to help our clients develop the most effective approach to project compliance.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Work with the project team to review and inspect Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for construction projects.

    • Organize, track and distribute project related data.

    • Perform quality assurance/ quality control reviews of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.

    • Assist in 3rd-party and inspection report reviews of construction storm water inspection reports for state and municipal clients.

    • Participate in team and independent based work.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Ability to use MS Office products proficiently and creatively to problem-solve and communicate.

    • Understanding of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Alaska Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (APDES), Construction General Permit (CGP), and Oil Pollution Prevention Regulations at the local, state, and federal level.

    • AK-CESCL, CISEC, or CPESC certification required.

    • Experience with Oracle is an asset.

    • The ideal candidate has the ability to work with initiative, professionalism and confidentiality, and is able to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment.

    • Has demonstrated the following:

      • Attention to detail.
      • Initiative in problem detection and resolution.

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

      • Ability to prioritize and multi-task between multiple project managers.

      • Works well in a teaming environment.

    Education and Experience

    • The position requires a minimum of 3-years' experience working as a SWPPP Writer or Storm Water Inspector. Technical degree or similar experience may be acceptable.

    • This is a mid-level position; however, relevant experience will be evaluated.

    Location

    Although our team members are encouraged to routinely work from the office, this position has the flexibility of working in a hybrid environment with a mix of work from the office, from home, and/or remotely assigned to the Fairbanks, AK office. Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
