    HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER

    Registered Nurse 2 - Patient Placement

    *This opening is for 90% FTE, Variable Shifts.

    Responsibilities include

    In collaboration with the nursing supervisor, utilize critical thinking utilizing the nursing process to triage and assign patients to the inpatient bed that aligns with the needs of the patient's diagnosis and physician orders.

    Utilize nursing process and nursing policy to assess vital signs and diagnosis and written orders to ensure safe movements of all patients in an through Harborview Medical Center.

    Collaborate and interact with unit charge nurses, staffer, and nursing supervisor to create and implement appropriate staffing plans in alignment with hospital policy and approved nursing matrices.

    Responsible for timely update of essential databases and community communication of the overall census and state of Harborview.

    Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges for patients seeking care through our emergency department, transfer center, clinics and procedural areas.

    Assist the nursing supervisor in their duties when delegated or necessary to ensure safe workflow and operations of patient care spaces.

    Responsible for tracking and monitoring of throughput through the emergency department and operating room, escalating concerns to nursing supervisor and nurse manager.

    Develop and prepare accurate license/registration reports in collaboration with nursing supervisor and staffer role.

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including but not limited to physician partners to ensure patients are receiving care in the area that aligns with their care needs.

    Acts as an advocate for patients and families through such activities as assisting them escalation of concerns to address their concerns and safeguard patient's privacy and confidentiality.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
    2. Min. 2 years inpatient RN work experience (acute care/critical care).
