    We are seeking a professional like you to create a competitive advantage for our business units through your service orientation, analytical thinking, and your negotiation skills. You will be responsible for the sourcing of Material handling equipment/vehicles and Lubricants for the many manufacturing sites in North America. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the procurement strategies for these categories. You will closely collaborate with business units, the technical community and site operations.

    As a Regional Category Buyer, You Create Chemistry By...

    • Performing the Source-to-Contract activities for the categories of Material handling equipment/vehicles as well as the categories of Lubricants.

    • Implementing and monitoring the category's purchasing strategy and preparing and executing inquiries.

    • Collaborating with site teams and procurement to incorporate strategies that support the successful execution of material handling equipment/vehicles and lubricant activities at our sites in the United States and Canada.

    • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with current and potential key suppliers. This will include monitoring performance metrics, resolving claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting availability and pricing of services procured.

    • Leading and managing the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key strategic contracts and highly complex negotiations to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF.

    • Conducting market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry-relevant information to assess current and future impact to BASF. In addition, you will support purchase order creation and processing as needed.

    If you...

    • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or other related degree.

    • Demonstrate at least 5 years of experience working on similar positions.

    • Possess a strong business acumen.

    • Display excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    • Showcase strong negotiation skills.

    • Have advanced skills in MS Excel and Power BI.
