    FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

    The Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) was established in 1966 by the State University of New York (SUNY) as the Urban Center in Manhattan, as a result of an act of the New York State Legislature. The MEOC has been funded by the State University of New York University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (SUNY UCAWD) and administered by Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) of the City University of New York during its entire history. Educational Opportunity Centers provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support services to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults.

    The MEOC seeks staff members at all levels who are dedicated to improving the educational and career opportunities of adult learners in New York City.     Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. EOC Lecturers perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise, including student advisement, curriculum development, and activities to advance the Centers' educational goals.

    As a faculty member of a CUNY Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), EOC Lecturers perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise as noted below.

    EOC Lecturers

    • Teach all levels of courses offered by the Department

    • Prepare and deliver student lectures

    • Serve on committees and provide services to community, government, and industry

    • Participate in departmental and Center-wide assignments, student advisement, curriculum development, and related activities in advancement of the educational aims of the Center

    • EOC Lecturers conduct peer observations and collaborate with other faculty and Manhattan EOC staff

    • Evening or weekend assignments may be required.

    CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

    • EOC Lecturer in Nursing will teach in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program

    • EOC Lecturer in Nursing will provide support coordinating the CNA program

    • In addition to CNA and based on certification or licensure, additional classes can include courses in Phlebotomy, EKG, or another patient-care area

    This is an in-person position at the Manhattan EOC located at 163 West 125th Street.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.

    Must be certified to teach Certified Nurse Aide Classes by New York State

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior experience teaching Certified Nurse Aides in a nursing home or certification to teach nurse aide/trade school teacher licensure strongly preferred

    • Master's degree in nursing, health administration, or similar

    COMPENSATION

    $52,072- $69,983*

    *Salary commersierate with education and experiance.
