Patient Service Representative

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Patient Service Representative in the healthcare industry, located in Depew, New York. This role involves being the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, and handling insurance verifications in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent service and assistance

• Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing patient inquiries and concerns

• Carry out check-in and check-out procedures for patients, ensuring a smooth flow of operations

• Confirm insurance details for each patient, verifying coverage and benefits

• Schedule patient appointments, managing calendars effectively to avoid overlaps or delays

• Make reminder calls to patients, ensuring they are informed of upcoming appointments

• Use CRM and Microsoft Office Suites to manage patient information and scheduling

• Perform billing functions and claim administration, liaising with insurance companies as needed

• Handle any patient complaints or issues, working to resolve them in a timely and satisfactory manner

• Manage cash activity within the office, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.

Requirements

• Proficient in CRM and EHR SYSTEM

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites is required

• Familiarity with Benefit Functions and Billing Functions

• Ability to perform Claim Administration tasks efficiently

• Excellent skills in Complaint Handling

• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting is preferred

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be flexible, reliable, and able to multitask.
