  • We are seeking for Patient Care Assistants to join our team at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. These positions are for Swing and Day shifts. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of our operation, including the cleanliness and comfort of our facility. We rely on a dedicated team of Patient Care Assistants to ensure the smooth operation of our hospital and the well-being of our patients and staff.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that laundry operations run smoothly and efficiently to meet the needs of the hospital.

    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in communal areas of the hospital, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.

    • Assist veterinarians and technicians as needed, providing support with patient care and treatment procedures.

    • Collaborate with other team members to prioritize tasks and ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional growth, actively seeking opportunities to expand skills and knowledge.

    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and supervisors, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.

    • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with clients and colleagues.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their caregivers.

    • Willingness to work swing shift hours, including evenings and weekends, to support our 24/7 operation.

    VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $16 to $17/ hour.
