    Job Description:

    Essential Responsibilities:

    Records physiological data from the patients having routine, sleep, and special electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures. Records physiological data from in/out patients having Long Term Monitoring(Telemetry). Includes telemetry application of monitoring equipment and reset patients returning for continued monitoring.

    Performs intraoperative procedures in the operating room as needed. Monitors physiological data from patients having electrocorticography and WADA. Applies electrodes to patients and removes electrodes at the end of surgery.

    Provides effective first aid for patients for special electrophysiological patients who have convulsions or other problems.

    Cleans and maintains all equipment and makes minor repairs as needed. Maintains cleanliness of laboratory and storage of data.

    Acts as resource for residents, physicians and other technicians, providing assistance and advice as necessary.

    Required Qualifications:

    High School diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical training in Neurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic technology preferred.

    0-1 years related work experience required.

    Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    One year technical healthcare experience.

    Successful completion of an educational program for EEG or Sleep Technologist accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.

    Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

    Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

    Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

    Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

    Age based Competencies:

    Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Neonatal:Birth to 6 months, Young adult: 16-30 years, Middle Age: 30 - 60 years, Elderly: 60 -.

    Physical Nature of the Job:

    Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move through out the hospital campus
