  • Job Description:

    • The MRI Technologists iFlex Team is part of Intermountain' s internal travel agency for assignments.

    • MRI Technologists iFlex caregivers are expected to float to other facilities in the region if not needed at assigned facility.

    • The MRI Technologist performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician

    This position functions under the supervision of local imaging coordinator or equivalent, with oversight from Imaging Services Management

    • It is expected that the MRI Technologist will support system wide and imaging services operational initiatives and practices and will actively participate in safe operations plans as outlined.

    • May be required to take call.

    Qualifications:

    Flat Rate: $77.00 hourly

    Housing Reimbursement: If working 50 miles or greater from your home, housing reimbursable amounts are determined by the assigned site location and receipts are required to be submitted within 30 days of transaction date.

    MRI Technologist responsibilities

    • Must be able to demonstrate a high-level clinical skill set in all hospital services provided in a trauma level hospital setting.

    • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.

    • Performs MRI examinations per department protocol.

    • Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency.Critiques own films

    • Completes studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.

    • In coordination with the radiologist, selects proper scanning techniques and protocols.

    • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration. As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers intravenous contrast material to patients.

    • Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.

    • Understands and operates all MRI equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced. Exhibits understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging.Exhibits a working knowledge of the MRI scanner. Troubleshoots when needed and understands the shutdown and start up procedures.

    • Exhibits a working knowledge of the magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and all relevant computer hardware and software.

    Requirements:

    • Current ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, required

    • MR registered by ARRT, preferred

    • Current MRI license in state of practice (if working in Utah).

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers.

    • Minimum of one year trauma level hospital experience in MRI.

    • IV Certification, required

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

    $7.25 - $999.99
