    Responsibilities

    CHI St. Alexius is looking for a Full Time Medical Lab Technician to join the team!

    Uses laboratory expertise to efficiently perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post analytic specimen processes to obtain accurate patient laboratory results in a timely manner. Able to utilize laboratory computer software and systems and assume duties that require more in-depth training. Assures service excellence to all customers is the highest priority.

    What You'll Do

    • Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection following laboratory polices to obtain best quality of specimen for testing.

    • Performs laboratory testing accurately, following laboratory policies, and reports results in a timely manner.

    • Ensures quality control requirements have been met, are deemed acceptable, and are documented prior to patient testing.

    • Performs all necessary maintenance and calibration on instruments

    • Performs laboratory staff training and competency assessment.

    • Monitors laboratory supplies, including storage, quantity, and expiration dates, and completes supply orders when supplies are needed.

    • Follows all proficiency testing (PT) requirements and submits PT results accurately and on time.

    • Participates in laboratory quality audits and process improvements.

    • Maintains knowledge of accrediting agencies and standards and participates in accrediting agency surveys.

    • Is a resource for laboratory related requests including order entry, specimen collection inquiries, proper test codes, specimen storage requirements, etc.

    • Aids in creating and maintaining policy and procedure manuals.

    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's degree-Medical Laboratory Technician

    • ASCP National Certification

    • North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice license

    • BLS certification

    Pay Range

    $19.18 - $26.32 /hour
