  • Description: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking an experience IPT Lead with a mechanical engineering background for our Orlando, Florida site. The candidate will be responsible for the Control Actuation Section (CAS) IPT Lead leading the support of supplier design, analysis, and test activities associated with CAS system and All-up-round (AUR) integration. The analysis effort will include thermal, stress, modal, etc. The candidate will lead a multidiscipline team in the support of the CAS supplier as they progress through engineering development phase, verification testing, and initial production.

    It is expected that the IPT will coordinate closely with Production Operations and fully support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) to identify opportunities for cost savings. This project has an aggressive schedule, so the candidate needs to have direct experience with all phases of the product development process, especially conceptual design through DVT/qual. Candidate is expected to be a player/coach with hands-on responsibilities as well as leadership responsibilities. Willingness to design with a digital transformation mindset is expected, including learning Model Based Design. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with the Program Management. USG stakeholders, and Suppliers.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Active Secret clearance

    Direct experience on hardware development programs.

    Experience leading failure analysis teams.

    Ability to lead a multidiscipline team.

    Experience in requirements verification compliance assessment

    Perform engineering technical evaluations.

    Must be willing to travel a minimum of 25%

    Desired Skills:

    Working knowledge of controls systems and mechanism design

    Experience leading FRB, RCCA, and CAP

    Proficient in 3D modeling software (PTC Creo)

    SOW/RFP development

    CAM on earned value discrete work for developmental missile programs

    Experience with government liaison

    Previous authorship on a winning EMD technical proposal team

    Air and missile defense program experience

    Integration and test experience

    Modeling and Simulation experience

    Control Actuation System development experience

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
