    Laboratory

    The Materials Lab Supervisor accelerates the technical and commercial traction of our core technologies and products by overseeing the material testing lab at Response Technologies in Coventry, Rhode Island. This position holds responsibility for developing test plans and managing a team to execute test plans for our unique materials and composites per contract deliverables, all within an AS9100 continuous improvement quality culture.

    What you'll be doing as a Materials Lab Supervisor

    • Responsible for directing testing technicians in the material testing lab.

    • Oversee and analyze testing of newly created products and evaluation of raw materials.

    • Develop and execute trial/test plans based on contract deliverables.

    • Document processing conditions. test results, and other critical-to-quality data.

    • Responsible for developing reports and a tracking databased for testing and labor tracking.

    • Design and create test processes and plans on new for varied composites, textile, coating, foam, and additive manufacturing technologies.

    • Conduct Quality and Safety System audits.

    • Create work instructions and other Tier III documents for AS9100 QMS.

    • Communicate findings and improvement opportunities to upper management.

    • Perform 5s activities in the lab and make improvements to drive a quality culture.

    Qualifications

    Skills You Bring To This Role

    • Working knowledge of materials testing equipment.

    • Prior hands-on composite and materials testing and evaluation experience.

    • Eagerness to learn and explore advanced 3D textile and composites processes, and other advanced Additive Manufacturing processes.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Effective team player, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills and excellent work ethic.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Ability to manage a team of technical employees.

    • Ability read new product specifications and translate to testing SOP's.

    What You Need To Be Successful

    • 5 years of prior relevant experience is required, and previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant materials science discipline.
