    Description:

    Position Purpose:

    The Mammographer will provide patient care by producing high quality images for interpretation by the radiologist in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Bone Densitometry and Radiography.

    Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday Varying shifts from 7-5. No weekends or holidays.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Shall be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.

    • Must possess a current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Permit to Practice in Radiology. Must be willing to obtain certification in mammography within 6 months of hire, if full-time or part time status. Those hired for PRN would have 1 year in order to obtain mammography certification. This would be to ensure proper training and clinical requirements are being met prior to boards.

    • If staff has been chosen to perform Bone Density: must be willing to obtain and maintain current ISCD certification.

    • If staff has been chosen to perform Stereotactic Biopsy: must obtain additional training and maintain continuing education specific to stereotactic biopsy and perform required number of biopsies to maintain certification.

    • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

    • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
