    CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

    Responsibilities

    Works under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator. The LPN contributes to the assessment, plan, and implementation of patient care under the direction of the RN on a nursing unit according to policies and procedures while maintaining standards of the State Nurse Practice Act. The LPN delegates to unlicensed assistive personnel according to the North Dakota Board of Nursing delegation rules. All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Medical Center.

    What You'll Do:

    • Adheres to St. Alexius Medical Center mission, values, and Journey Beyond Excellence expectations to foster a compassionate, healing environment providing physiological, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and visitors.

    • Assures quality of care by adhering to St. Alexius Medical Center policies, philosophies and standards of care regulated by ND State Board of Nursing, the ND nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations

    • Provides direct patient care according to the therapeutic plan and individual patient needs as directed by the patient care plan

    • Gathers appropriate information to assist the Registered Nurse in the preparation and maintenance of an effective patient care plan and documents accordingly.

    • Assists the RN in meeting the educational needs of patient/family/co-workers utilizing principles and current professional literature to achieve positive learning outcomes. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

    • Notifies the Registered Nurse of significant findings or changes in the patient's physical or mental conditions.

    • Successfully completes the defined job specific competencies, including competencies for age specific, as appropriate

    Qualifications

    Education: Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.

    Licensure: Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of ND or in a compact state. Graduate Practical Nurse (G.P.N) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid.

    Pay Range

    $18.86 - $25.22 /hour
