    DuPont's Electronics & Industrial division has an opportunity for an experienced Logistics Specialist at our Newark-Bellevue, Delaware site.

    The Logistics Specialist reports to the Site Logistics Leader: Performs daily Logistics duties including daily communications with Customer Service, Account Management, Rapid Customer Sampling Team, Carriers and Manufacturing/Shipping departments; Process all outbound shipping documentation ; Support the Site Logistics Operation through Traffic and Logistics duties and responsibilities during implementation of new global distribution centers including support of any system or process related changes: Participates in achieving the company quality goals; Operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

    This position works on the Day shift; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with limited overtime.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs daily Logistics Coordinator duties : Checks daily sales orders for proper ship mode and valid shipping date; checks revisions to original orders to update pricing, ship mode, ship date and address change; processes pick lists from shipping department to prepare and distribute shipping and customs documentation in accordance with all US and international regulations; maintains accurate customer files; provides freight charges; provides proof of delivery to Sales & Customer Services; sends unscheduled shipments as provided by internal customers; process Rush requests and various types of shipping problem solving. Monitor freight billing and associated logistics charges and resolve any non-conformances related to billing. Monitor and report on carrier performance issues, including missed pick up reporting and initiate contact with carriers and forwarders to identify root cause and corrective action for service improvement. Follows document retention in accordance with corporate guidelines and regulations. Cross functional training of all members of the teams to meet the total processing goal.

    • Daily communications with Customer Service, Sales Department, and Rapid Customer Sampling Team : Interface with internal and external customers to provide global logistics solutions. Work to keep Customer Service Representatives informed of any changes in shipping data. Confirm shipping dates with manufacturing; process back-order requests; Update customer files to reflect any shipping changes.

    • Communicates daily with carriers and shipping department : Interface with domestic and international freight forwarders and freight carriers to obtain competitive rates and execute global shipments (air, ocean, and ground) in accordance with customer requirements and government regulations. Arrange daily pick-ups for shipments with motor carriers; specialized freight forwarders, airlines and commercial freight carriers. Daily contact with shipping department to ensure timely production of shipment and related paperwork.

    • Shipping documentation : Prepare and distribute shipping and customs documentation in accordance with all US and international regulations. Generate reports of scheduled sales orders; verification with manufacturing to ensure all orders are completed and shipped on schedule; preparation of waybill; preparation of customs documentation; shipping documentation to include labels; maintenance of all documentation for customer file; enter and revise information in the ERP system.

    • Participates in achieving the company quality goals : Dedicated to reducing product variation and to the spirit and body of continuous improvement; strives for a better understanding of our customers' requirements; maintains proficiency in problem solving techniques; embraces the concept of teamwork; takes ownership for the quality of the products produced and services performed; and provides excellent internal and external customer service. Monitor and report metrics for daily progress reports. Work with logistics team members to identify and implement process area improvements.

    • Operates in compliance with company safety practices : complies with and aids in the development of departmental safety rules; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; follows procedures for handling and disposal of chemicals; monitors area for hazards; uses safety equipment when required; and maintains a safe, clean work area.

    • Performs other duties as assigned .

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

    • Minimum of four years of business and operational experience is required. Logistics experience preferred.

    • Customer Focus, excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, decision making abilities and attention to detail are required.

    • Working knowledge of key systems (SAP, EDI, Intranet, and Microsoft Office) is preferred.

    • Ability to work well independently or with a team; priority setting, time management

    • Must be a self-starter, assertive, flexible, organized and work well under pressure.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools, and to travel between office and plant environments of varied temperatures and humidity.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT : The working environment is general office and warehouse atmosphere. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
