Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Mechanicsburg, Fisher Rd. Family Practice

UPMC's Fisher Road Family Practice is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse to their team. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p, or 8:30a-5p, or 9a-5:30p, can be a little flexible. NO WEEKENDS. NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS.

Responsibilities:

• Help MA's room patients if needed

• Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs, weight, confirm medical history, verify meds

• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments

• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

• Call patients with bloodwork results, schedule patient if needed

• Task Baskets i.e. Medication refills, patient questions, fill out needed forms

• BP Check's

• Wound Care

• Phone triage

• Draw blood if needed

• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.

• Comply with all policies and procedures.

• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.

• 1-year clinical experience preferred, but not required.

• New LPN graduates welcome to apply! Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

• Clearances must be dated within 90 days

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

• Act 33 with renewal

• Act 34 with renewal

• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
