    Supplier Quality Management Engineering focuses on planning, organizing, directing, and reporting on supplier provided raw materials, designed/manufactured goods, and packaging materials to ensure they meet or exceed requirements including: This position oversees verifying and validating that suppliers and/or subcontractors have received engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements. The Lead Supplier Quality Management Engineer is responsible for monitoring quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and ensures programs are in place to improve supplier performance and productivity. This position also reviews and analyzes corrective action reports to reduce/eliminate defects and may perform deviation investigations into quality issues.

    Responsibilities

    In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

    • Leads large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from manager

    • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals

    • Assists in the development of operational plan and implements for areas of assigned responsibilities

    • Identifies continuous improvement/automation activities and makes frequent recommendations based on detailed analyses and applying results to drive improvements

    • Adapts precedent and may holistically change standard operating procedures to develop new solutions

    • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders

    • Travel is estimated at 20-30%.

    Preferred Experience and Skills

    • Factory quality manager experience is a plus

    • Lean Six Sigma certification

    • Lead Auditor training, experience auditing or proven understanding of an audit process

    • Tire manufacturing experience as part of the time period of the minimum qualifications

    • Product development experience working with a supplier understanding the supplier's impact to the quality of the finished good

    • Ability to work successfully in a team environment

    Minimum Qualifications

    Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
