    Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

    The Coordinator Client Services delivers the highest level of customer service to providers, clients, and staff by resolving complex specimen issues, testing inquiries, identifying errors, and providing resolution.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Investigates and resolves complex problems or complaints in coordination with the Quality department and the Medical Director.

    • Supports the timely reporting, read back, and documentation of critical tests and results.

    • Supports all lab operations in all disciplines, including anatomic pathology, general laboratory, blood bank, microbiology, and ancillary lab operations.

    • Develops and provides responses to questions from health care providers regarding testing availability, specimen requirements, add on tests, and testing methodology.

    • Researches esoteric tests.

    • Identifies reporting errors that prevent accurate and timely release of results.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of The College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulations and other regulatory agencies through training and competency and participates in the development of quality, safety, and compliance programs.

    Licensing/Certification

    MLT Medical Laboratory Technician Certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)

    MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (preferred)

    Bachelors (preferred)

    Work Experience

    3 years of clinical lab experience (required)

    5 years of clinical lab experience (preferred)
