    Junior Radar Technician (NASA)

    This job posting is for a position in the ROC Surveillance Radar section

    Position Requirements

    • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and 3 years' experience or previous military training and 2 years' experience or technical school and 2 years' experience.

    • Candidate must obtain a tower climbing certificate and will be expected to climb towers up to 160ft.

    • Candidate must obtain a crane operator rigger license through NASA.

    • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

    • This position requires upcoming travel to support operations in Alaska and possible other locations outside the country.

    • This position requires some work outside of normal shift schedules to support NASA rocket launches and other operations

    • Possession of a General Radio Operators License a plus

    • Ability to speak clear and concise over VHF and UHF radios to ships and aircraft.

    • Interpreting electrical diagrams such as functional block diagrams and schematics

    • Digital and analog electronic fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot to the component level.

    • Knowledge of test equipment operation for such items as signal generators, power meters, function generators, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes

    • Previous experience with RF systems, such as air and sea surveillance radars and IFF systems

    • Familiarity with PC operation and possesses demonstrable typing skills.

    • Demonstrates mathematical skill necessary to perform basic algebraic skills.

    • Performing manual tasks, which may include climbing towers and lifting 50 lbs. or more.

    • Knowledge of maritime and aircraft environments is a plus.

    • The ability to work under stress associated with rigid time demands.

    • Cable crimp and harness training is a plus.
