    This client is a non-profit healthcare system owned by the state of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill, NC.

    TEKsystems has partnered with this client for over 6 years, primarily delivering talent resources to help them scale efficiently as they go through mergers and acquisitions. The technical operations team is looking for one Jr System Administrator to join their team in a third shift schedule.

    This person will be the escalation point from the service desk for any Operating System related issues. Looking for someone that has a minimum of a year experience working at a system administrator in a virtualized environment. Their environment is comprised of 7k servers, about 90% are virtualized in VMware, they use WSUS for server patching, and SolarWinds for monitoring.

    This individual will be the first point of contact for the service desk overnight and will take care of escalated issue that they cannot resolve. There are two senior members on call to assist and two team members during the night shift as well. The night shift is not busy, there can be a lot of down time, eagerness to stay busy and taking initiative are important.

    The team reports to the Data Center and Disaster Recovery manager, Sam Moore. The teams sits on site in the data center located on 300 Meadowmont Village Circle in Chapel Hill. This team follows a rotating schedule with three 12 hour shifts and one 6 hour shift, the schedule rotates every three weeks and shifts will:

    • Three 12hr shifts from Monday to Wednesday from 6pm to 6am, and one 6hr shift on Thursday from 12am to 6am.

    • One 6hr shift from 12am to 6am, and three 12hr shifts from Friday to Sunday 6pm to 6am.

    This is a long term contract, extends every six months, the goal is for this person to become an FTE - Their requirements for Full Time Employees are:

    • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience

    • Associates degree and 4 year of experience

    • No education - 9 years of experience
