This internship is designed to give interested candidates an introduction into the Water/Wastewater industry by giving them hands on experience at the Wilmington Wastewater Treatment Plant. A successful candidate should have an interest in the Water/Wastewater field with a heavy emphasis on Instrumentation and Controls or Computer Science and at least be starting their Junior year of college in Fall 2024.

    • Assist staff in various projects related to the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities

    • Participate in projects/programs assigned by Engineering Manager and I&C Engineers

    • Use analytical skills to evaluate problems, gather and analyze data for use by other technical staff

    • Participate in technical meetings with O&M and engineering staff as it relates to job duties or assigned projects

    • Spend time shadowing various other fields within the plant and at other projects within Jacobs as it aligns with your interests

    • Conduct field work under the direct supervision of a manager in a safe manner

    Here's what you'll need :

    • Engineering or Instrumentation Major

    • Experience with Microsoft Products including Excel and Word

    • Strong Organizational Skills

    • Experience working with diverse teams in a fast paced environment

    • Valid driver's license with no major infractions

    • Ability to work in the field and lift up to 40 lbs
