Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Credit Clerk, based in Santa Barbara, California. This role is pivotal in our finance department, focusing on processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and resolving credit-related inquiries. The role also involves taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently processing customer credit applications

• Maintaining detailed and accurate customer credit records

• Resolving customer credit inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner

• Monitoring customer credit accounts and identifying delinquent payments

• Taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Directly working with senior staff, partners, and clients to provide outstanding customer service on bookkeeping matters

• Managing workload and priorities independently with the necessary support

• Constantly enhancing technical skills as well as interpersonal and communication skills

• Preparing payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, Forms 571-L, and bank reconciliations

• Adjusting journal entries and reconciling account statements

• Preparing financial statements and executing cash to accrual conversations. Requirements - Proficiency in adjusting journal entries

• Demonstrated experience in handling payroll tax returns

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements

• Strong knowledge in bookkeeping principles

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy

• Proficient in using accounting software

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
