  • Eaton's Bussmann Dvision is currently seeking an Engineering Operations Manager. This position is based at our Bussmann Division HQ location in Ellisville, MO. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year.

    What you'll do:

    We are looking for an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to supervise all engineering services that support Bussmann's new product innovations, cost-out, and product line support activities. This role will directly oversee Bussmann laboratories' operations, design services, and product stewardship, as well as lead Bussmann's laboratory operationalization and marketing initiatives. Additionally, the Engineering Operations Manager will be responsible for all third-party certifications.

    • Actively participate in certification committee meetings, standards review, industry white papers, and other relevant activities to ensure that Eaton's Bussmann division is well-represented in all third-party agencies that list the company's products.

    • Foster strong relationship with third-party agencies to ensure Eaton's Bussmann maintains influence over the creation of new standards in addition to updates to the current standards.

    • Supports all New Product Innovation activities and align priorities within the laboratory operations and the certification team.

    • Drive and lead execution at the third-party agencies to ensure projects are executed on time.

    • Align certification objectives and testing priorities with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce.

    • Develop and drive business training initiatives with respect to product certifications.

    • Develop organizational strategies to support future business needs based on product line roadmaps by driving investment into Bussmann laboratory operations.

    • Ensure that Bussmann laboratories are operating efficiently by establishing metrics for equipment utilization and implementing a scheduling system that prioritizes test visibility.

    • Leads Bussmann's lab capabilities marketing to drive business growth.

    • Ensure that Bussmann lab operations are modernized and maintained by promptly investing in infrastructure and equipment.

    • Collaborate with the Bussmann Experience Center Manager to establish synergies between laboratory operations.

    • Ensure that all design services are prioritized in alignment with the business needs.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

    • Minimum 7 years of experience working in electromechanical component or systems design and/or lab operations

    • Experience working with third-party certification

    • Experience managing or supervising an engineering team

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in technical field from an accredited institution

    • Prior work experience performing engineering tests, analyzing results, and reporting findings

    • Experience using SAP

    • Prior experience with new product development

    • Prior experience developing new testing methods

    • Experience managing engineering teams in projects or certifications functions

    • Understanding of product stewardship such as RoHS, REACH, Prop65, etc.

    Skills:

    • Understanding of phase gate project development

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical issues/concepts

    • Methodical, creative technical problem-solving skills

    • Understanding of product requirements, mechanical design, and performance margins

    • Administrative skills and safe work practices
