Responsibilities

Applies diversified knowledge of electronics, telecommunications, and electrical engineering,

and mechanical engineering principles to the broad areas of new construction, remodeling

and maintenance. Works independently or in conjunction with an Electrical or Mechanical

Engineer to resolve engineering problems. Provides systems design and

construction documentation, including specifications, for miscellaneous and selected larger

projects. Manages, coordinates and directs the work activities of outside consultants on

communication, electrical, or mechanical systems and related infrastructure design.

Provides direction to construction managers, contractors and design technicians to resolve

unforeseen issues on construction projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering Technology or

equivalent, from an ABET accredited curriculum, plus 3 years experience is preferred.Must have good working knowledge of life safety issues, building codes, electrical,

mechanical, or communication standards and be able to adapt to specific design conditions

and solutions. Must have the ability to read and interpret construction documents, details

and specifications. Demonstrated proficiency in computer operating systems, Computer

Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and other computer software applications.Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

preferred.
