Position Overview
The Director, Project Management (DPM) is responsible for directing, mentoring and managing Team Leaders/Project Managers in the successful planning and managing of teams, resources and logistics required to execute events within budget, scope and timeline by establishing and communicating clear objectives. This position helps assist the sales team in determining event technical requirements to capture new business or to execute definite business. The DPM implements key business strategies that drive operational consistency in event execution, optimize deployment of key production resources, and drive the development of team members while ensuring adherence to Technical and Production Standards. This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Project Management.
Key Job Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership
Assign Project Managers (PM's) to events and ensure the events are executed within budget, scope, and timeline.
Provide consultation and guidance to PMs, Sales Managers and operations teams.
Partner with above property leadership in market demand planning.
Ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Standards and Production Standards.
Consult with the product management team to identify and successfully deploy new product solutions in the market.
Facilitate adoption of new technology, local training & deployment of resources.
Support, sponsor and execute all company initiatives. Communicate goals and objectives to team members clearly and frequently.
Lead by example in portraying a polished, professional image in accordance with the standards set forth in the PSAV team member guidebook.
Project Management
Responsible for leading a team of Project Managers in pre-show and execution of events.
Direct teams to ensure proper planning of resources and logistics across all of PSAV.
Required to be knowledgeable in all new and existing PSAV equipment and service to successfully leverage event experiences and suggest creative and value-added audio visual services and technology and/or develop innovative solutions for each client.
Sales Consultation
Develop and mentor Team Leads/Project Managers to assist with the reconciliation of event costs.
Partner with Regional Sales Directors (RSD) to understand and evaluate future business needs from a broad market perspective.
Assist the market sales team with technical consultation as necessary.
Resource Allocation
Assign and schedule team members ensuring that the appropriate talent is leveraged against the required task.
Ensure assignments provide team members with opportunities for growth and development
Facilitate team members' efficient utilization and deployment of resources by prioritizing internal equipment and minimizing sub-rental costs.
People Development
Increase operational effectiveness by communicating PSAV Core values, strategies, and objectives to team members
Monitor and improve the team's efficiency and productivity using standards and KPI's.
Establish clear expectations regarding responsibilities, behaviors, and daily activities.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members and ensure a safe work environment consistent with company values.
Provide continuous feedback to direct reports and conduct annual reviews.
Partner with HR business partners to manage human resources activity including selection, performance management, salary administration, training and development and strategic human resources planning.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of project management experience
5+ years of people leadership experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Positive approach to teamwork, sales and problem solving
Strong Client relationship skills
Works well under pressure
MS Office experience required
Formal technical training desirable

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. When traveling, work will be completed in a hotel environment with limited exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by PSAV based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
