  • Overview

    The Commercialization Director will lead strategic initiatives and commercialization activities at The Vitamin Shoppe. Partnering with the Leadership Team, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing business and commercialization strategies that accelerate overall business growth and performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the commercialization process, from final NPIF to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

    • Take products developed on-paper by our Brand and Brand Operations teams, and translate them at manufacturing sites into a scalable, consistent product that improves efficiency while meeting the quality promise

    • Manage existing and transfer items through the full process

    • Maximize opportunities and supply of container management

    • Manage Private Label manufacturing agreements along with Sourcing team

    • Work closely with the Brand function to ensure product development aligns with, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities

    • Collaborate with the co-manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and effective production of high-quality products and to troubleshoot any production-related issues

    • As new products are identified within the portfolio, act as a collaborator in the co-manufacturer selection process, and ensure that all new products are positioned to scale efficiently

    • Identify optimization levers to reduce production costs and implement approved changes with co-manufacturer partners through production planning as well as manage EDI, regulatory compliance and scorecard elements

    • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth

    • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams including but not limited to Brand, Brand Operations, TPT, QA/QC, Inventory Control, Planning, Merchants, Finance, Legal, AP customer service etc.)

    • Manage all liabilities for products including BOMs that are either discontinued or modified

    • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders

    • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management

    • Look for new ways to interact and maximize relationships with co-manufacturers

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of previous experience with the operations and manufacturing space, including working with 3rd party partners and cross-functional team experience

    • Must be able to work at varying levels of the organization

    • Strong self-starter who can be consultative and collaborative to influence individuals in other departments.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) given many of the initiatives will be transformational and require a significant level of change management and understanding.

    • Solid problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to find solutions to complex problems and demonstrate how initiatives will create value.

    • Comfortable with taking on a leadership role in the business across multiple areas, even without having all the business knowledge.

    • High Business, Strategy & Financial Acumen

    • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    • Proven ability to demonstrate value with initiatives

    • Change Management capabilities

    • Leader of Teams
