  • The Director, Radiation Oncology Clinical Processes is primarily responsible for ensuring high standards in the clinical processes of radiation oncology, including dosimetrist treatment planning / optimization, delivery and evaluation of radiation therapy, and in this capacity is responsible for joint oversight of medical dosimetry, medical physics, and radiation therapy, as well as alignment of administration responsibilities with clinical quality goals and standards. This is an integrative role: The primary goal is improvement and standardization in end to end clinical processes in partnership with the quality and physics teams; The secondary direct role is alignment of clinical process management in partnership with oncology operations.

    Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Implements, and oversees a comprehensive program for quality control and management of radiation oncology clinical processes in collaboration with the Physics and Quality teams.

    • Implements policies and procedures for the professional support of Medical Dosimetrists and Radiation Therapists. Provides a positive, supportive and professional environment for dosimetry and radiation therapy. Ensures clear performance goals and consistent performance evaluations based on these goals.

    • Collaborates with physics and quality teams on the implementation of a comprehensive system for error prevention, including a method to learn from incidents (including "near misses") with a focus on improving the process to minimize the risk of future incidents; ensures that clinical procedures are subject to a risk-informed assessment designed to minimize risks to patient and staff.

    • Collaborates with physics, operations, and business development on planning, selling, and implementation of new clinical sites, with an emphasis on preparation of clinical resources, virtual coverage, efficiencies, and a comprehensive clinical quality program, as well as staffing and equipment.

    • Serves as a resource for training and continuing education for Radiation Oncology staff. Assist with site accreditation programs across the network as a means of quality improvement and success in the radiation oncology arena.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    • 50% Travel may be required.

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

    • Certification in Medical Dosimetry (CMD), or

    • Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology (ASRT) , or

    • Certification in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics (ABR/CCPM/ABMP), AND

    • Minimum ten (10) years combined experience in a Radiation Oncology clinical role, with management and/or leadership experience.

    Preferred:

    • Master's Degree in (MS, MA, MBA, BSHA).

    Physical Requirements:
