  • ROLE SUMMARY

    Pfizer seeks a highly skilled Director of Data Evaluation that has deep industry knowledge of commercial data assets along with hands-on analytics experience. This hands-on role will evaluate new and existing secondary data acquisitions, providing technical expertise and connecting secondary data assets to new and existing use cases and business needs. The scope of this role will be Global across all Pfizer Biopharma business units: Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Oncology. Key accountabilities and partnerships include CA&AI Data Science, CA&AI Analytics Engineering, and CA&AI Insight Strategy and Execution teams.

    This is an individual contributor role.

    • Technical evaluation of pharmaceutical industry data sources including claims, EHR, specialty pharmacy, sales, and customer master data. Evaluations will inform business and CA&AI teams and lead to recommendations on switching data vendors and/or adding new data vendors.

    • Produce detailed comparisons of data sources (coverage, quality, interoperability, fit within our existing data ecosystem) leading to informed decision making as to switch and/or addition of new data vendors. He/she will distill complex data comparisons into actionable recommendations for CA&AI stakeholders leading to switching and/or addition of data vendors.

    • Align new data sources to priority commercial use cases, leading to new data-oriented commercial capabilities supporting our sales and marketing organizations.

    • Participate in data vendor selection decisions.

    • Ensure data sources are fit for purpose and aligned to the use cases they best support.

    • Leverage analytic tools and platforms in support of data evaluation and management activities, e.g. Tableau, Dataiku, Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark, SQL to evaluate data coverage, quality, interoperability, and fit within Pfizer's existing data ecosystem.

    • Identify process and methodology improvements and working with internal groups such as Data Science, Analytic Engineering and actively participate / advise on implementation.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 10+ professional experience; 7+ years of advanced analytics experience

    • Deep knowledge of the commercial data landscape in the pharmaceutical industry.

    • BA required, MS or above preferred, relevant fields include but are not limited to operations research, data science, statistics, computer programming.

    • Change management and experience with operationalizing tools / platforms.

    • Demonstrated business and financial acumen.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Advanced degree (PhD) in operations research, data science, statistics, computer programming, or Epidemiology.

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience using administrative claims (EMR/EHR, open and closed claims data sources)

    The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
