    Data Scientist-HV Propulsion Product Develpment

    In this position...

    Support engineering efforts for Recertification, Refurbishment, and Remanufacture (Re-X) of various HV Propulsion components by gathering & analyzing data to assess health of incoming seed stock (core).

    Description for Internal Candidates

    Assessment will require expertise & interlinking of many Ford data sources, including production information (build dates, part numbers, EOL data, etc), connected vehicle data (DTCs, location information, etc), warranty information (claims, GCQIS, etc), module data (direct memory read) and more. Additionally, candidate will support development & engineering of other data-centric aspects of Remanufacture, such as EOL testing.

    What you'll do...

    Gain expertise with all Ford connected data systems including GSAR, GCP contextual data, FNOL data, and many others

    Asses health of incoming seed stock by analyzing dataset from above systems

    Support the development, revision and releasing of Re-X EV engineering specifications, particularly core classification based on connected vehicle data (DTCs, use history, etc)

    Work with the Quality OPD program engineers to access global quality documents (GCQIS/AWS) to obtain and assess service history of EV components

    Understand calibration software impact upon Re-X projects

    Support PD EV Re-X Engineering efforts, including reverse engineering of components / assemblies

    Work cross functionally with HV Battery Components teams and FCSD to launch Re-x programs for High voltage EV components

    Support FCSD with the development and verification of the Re-X process related End of Line and PV tests

    Support FCSD with the development of the Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW)

    Contribute to the development of Business cases

    Support the development of engineering solutions to further utilize core and existing stock to increase re-use as well as to resolve backorder / demand issues

    Support joint Product Development and FCSD initiatives

    Ensure all engineering requirements and other deliverables necessary to achieve PPAP or project signoff

    You'll have...

    Qualifications for Internal Candidates

    • Required Degree/Major: B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

    • 2 years + experience

    • Proficiency with SQL & other database languages

    Even better, you may have...

    • Experience with large-scale data processing via Alteryx, Python, or equivalent

    • Functional knowledge of EE fundamentals (Ohms law, Inductance/Capacitance, etc)

    • Basic understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN network, DTCs, DIDs, etc.

    • Ability to work effectively with various functions of a vehicle program

    • Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail

    • Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, presentation, and written communication skills

    • Strong leadership skills, able to effectively interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders

    • Minimal travel expected, primarily SE Michigan Ford facilities
