    As a Pulmonary Rehab Coordinator, your primary duties will include:

    • Supervising and directing all respiratory care delivered by Respiratory Therapy Section personnel to ensure quality of patient care, adherence to policy and the promotion of academic change.

    *Working closely with our Pulmonary, Asthma and Allergy department to identify and improve asthma treatments.

    *Working on various organizational improvement strategies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participates in the supervision of staff, development of departmental goals, and the development/maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.

    • Ensures services/programs adhere to TQI principles.

    • Evaluates and shares quality data with customers for continuous process improvement.

    • Identifies areas to improve customer satisfaction and responds with action plans to improve results.

    • Assists the Education Coordinator with the development of an ongoing program of orientation, training and continuing education for staff.

    • Performs the duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory therapy.

    Certifications:

    • Current State of Ohio Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.

    • Asthma Educator Specialist (AE-C) preferred

    • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist preferred

    Complexity of Work:

    • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of three years experience in critical care and experience in which leadership and teaching skills have been demonstrated.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.

    • Normal or corrected vision.

    • Extensive sitting and frequent walking.

    • Occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 15 pounds.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
