    POSITION AND DUTY REQUIREMENTS

    Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA)

    will perform requirements with minimal monitoring by a Registered Nurse. NA provides basic, appropriate, effective interventions to individual patients needs according to established facility policies, safety standards and procedures. The contact NA refers to the professional RN when deviations and problems not covered in the assignment occur. The contract NA anticipates the needs of professional staff and works with them as a team member.

    The Nursing Assistants provide a vital role assisting the licensed nurses providing direct patient care for patients in the Medical Center and residents in the Community Living Center.

    NA performs a range of personal nursing care which includes feeding, walking, lifting, turning patients and providing related hygiene care.

    NA performs a range of diagnostic support duties which include taking, recording and reporting to nurses' deviations in vital signs and change in patients' condition.

    Assembles necessary equipment. Cleans and cares for equipment in oxygen and suction therapy, frame beds and reports equipment in need of repair.

    The minimum requirements for all certified nursing assistants shall include at least 1-year prior experience. VA experience is preferred.

    Requirements Include

    A current CPR/BLS certificate by the American Heart Association is required.

    The shifts for CNA positions are rotating.

    3:30PM-Midnight and 11:30-8:00AM shift including Nights, Weekends and Federal Holidays.
