    Work hours: Full Time (40hours) Day shift

    Here's What You Need

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology Required

    Experience

    • 2 Years Experience in cardiac rehabilitation Required

    Licenses and Certifications

    • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And

    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Required

    What You Will Do

    Clinical Practice

    • Assess patient health risks, needs, and interests.

    • Assist with the development of comprehensive individualized exercise program.

    • Conducts fitness evaluations in accordance with department guidelines.

    • Develops exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the unique needs and interests of the client and in accordance with

    • department guidelines.

    • Provides instruction necessary for the safe and effective performance of exercise activities, and promotion of secondary

    • prevention to individuals who are limited by cardiac disease to improve functional capacity and lower cardiovascular risk

    • factors.

    • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age

    • specific needs.

    • Competent in the use of ScottCare telemetry, obtaining accurate HR, BP, RR, and cardiac rhythm.

    • Demonstrates proficiency in the setup and operation of all monitoring and exercise equipment.

    • Plans, implements, evaluates documents patient education.

    • Completes all documentation and written communication in a timely manner.

    • Uses H.E.A.R.T. appropriately to address patient/family concerns.

    • Recognizes/communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.

    • Shared decision making: This role provides bedside leadership in Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, coordinating patient flow, patient care and assignments. Responsible for assisting the manager/director with human resource management to include evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education, and orientation. Works with manager/director to control costs and manage department budget and productivity.

    • Provides continuous constructive feedback and timely annual performance evaluations to staff.

    • Participates in progressive disciplinary action process with Manager/Director and staff.

    • Supports retention strategies and objectives and assists with recruiting and hiring of potential staff.

    • Meets with staff to coordinate and schedule patient care or discuss problems concerning patient care for area of responsibility

    • Uses Performance Management Guide appropriately

    • Monitors on a daily basis patient volume versus staffing ratio and spread of patients among available staff to ensure self and staff are meeting productivity targets

    • Assists and teaches less experienced staff

    • Assists department leadership in the ongoing assessment of customer needs, the assessment and modification of current

    • programs and the development of new programs

    • Assists department leadership in the management and resolution of customer complaints

    • Assists department leadership in the achievement of KPIs

    • Assures data gathering of outcomes for area of responsibility

    • Assists with analysis and action planning of outcomes achieved for area of responsibility

    • Implements actions plans for improvement of performance in areas of responsibility

    • Functions as a clinical instructor for professional students and arranges positive learning experiences for non-professional

    • students

    • Assists with development and procurement of new or updated patient educational materials for area of responsibility

    • Acts as a resource for cardiac rehab clinicians, assistants and support personnel in solving departmental issues

    • Demonstrates awareness of entire departmental patient care needs and works with peers to ensure adequate patient care

    • Promotes departmental image, may make calls, and communicates pertinent information to all stakeholders

    • Assists in development and ongoing monitoring of capital and operating budgets

    • Assists in selection and supervision of cardiac rehab clinicians and employees

    • Participates in strategies to meet business initiatives and unit/team, program, and department specific goals and targets.

    • Attends in-services, department meetings, and other training sessions relative to job.

    • Is knowledgeable of and adheres to hospital and department procedures and policies.

    • Demonstrates involvement in a professional organization, including certification in appropriate specialty if applicable.

    • Participates in community outreach activities.

    • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility by independently completing projects/assignments on time.

    • Leads or participates in required meetings.
