    Job Summary

    The successful candidate will work as an Associate Engineer in the Underground Transmission Engineering group within the Asset Management and Centralized Services organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and/or review project engineering scope of work documents.

    • Ensuring that all aspects of the project proceed while adhering to internal company standards and practices; as well as external regulations and laws, including maintenance of project documentation.

    • Supervise the planning, forecasting and implementation of the projects.

    • Serve as a liaison to facilitate communication with contractors, suppliers and internal company stakeholders, as needed to drive the seamless running of the projects.

    • Track and maintain project technical deliverables to ensure they are on schedule.

    • Troubleshoot / determine efficient and effective solutions to problems as they arise on a project - usually involves making critical decisions that may impact the schedule and budget of the projects.

    • Take responsibility for the technical considerations and supervise the technical design team within the projects.

    • Track detailed project target dates and consult with all team members to ensure they are able to meet all milestones while maintaining the budget.

    • Working to minimize the risks associated with the Engineering aspects of the projects.

    • Interpreting the needs, expectations, and limitations of all stakeholders across every area of the project, bringing them together with the aim of successful project delivery

    • Coordinate and procure major Transmission Equipment Materials (i.e., PCM materials etc.)

    • Review Technical Engineering Specifications and create Scope Documents

    • Perform commissioning and qualification responsibilities.

    • Perform technical reviews of engineering design packages and provide engineering-related comments.

    • Create requisitions and follow up to ensure POs are processed and in a timely manner.

    • Process/update vendor Invoices and coordinate with responsible engineers and managers as needed.

    • Transmission Formular Rate planning and monitoring

    As an employee of PSE&G, you should be aware that during Strom/Outage restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and your regular work schedule. You may also be required to work in an alternate location. Must be willing to work OT as required and perform on-call / emergency replacement work and assist during system emergency situations.

    Job Specific Qualifications

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering

    • Familiar with electrical utility, outside plant transmission systems

    • Some knowledge of Overhead (OH) and Underground (UG) Transmission Outside Plant

    • Familiar with transmission system operation and construction

    • Working knowledge of utility best practices, ASME, NESC and ASCE standards

    • Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills

    • As the job requires driving to Company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history.

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

    • Advanced Technical or Engineering Degree

    • Advanced technical training or F.E. License

    • Familiar with AutoCAD / MicroStation
