    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director of US Market Access Learning and Development, the Associate Director of US Market Access Learning and Development (L&D), shares the responsible for: All aspects of the MA L&D Strategy, for a sub-set of the branded portfolio of products, plus all above brand a non-branded training activities required across all US Market Access Field Teams.

    • Defines L&D priorities with MAx VPs, GMs, SDs and RDs for their respective teams to include: product, competency & skill development and US market landscape training.

    • Serves as a trusted and credible advisor to the MA Field Leadership, MA Marketing Leaders, cross-functional partners, and colleagues

    • Works with AbbVie's Commercial and Medical subject matter experts to build educational and training solutions under the 3 key pillars of Product, Marketplace, and Skills & Competencies

    • Works seamlessly with marketing and sales leadership to design and deliver engaging application training for branded, above-brand and unbranded approaches

    • Shares responsibility for Market Access training strategy formation and delivery, platform administration and training compliance documentation across a subset of the total brands (~15 brands) in the following TAs; Immunology, Eye Care, Anti-viral and Anti-infective

    • Expert in designing curriculum using adult learning principals to engage the learners and enhance the MA Field Team's executional excellence

    • Engages with stakeholders to gain feedback on existing programs and makes the appropriate adjustments to advance the quality of the training

    • Manages and optimizes training platforms, meetings, conferences, and budgets

    • Manages, models and builds strong and credible partnerships, and networks, with AbbVie partners and industry experts. Leverages relationships to co-create industry leading educational materials. Consistently demonstrates positive AbbVie Ways of Working

    • Provides expert-driven content solutions that maintain an exceptional base of access value-chain expertise and marketplace stakeholder dynamics

    • Develops experiences that develop selling capabilities and Strategic Account Management, from financial business acumen to multi-person negotiations, and short & mid-term strategic and tactical account planning

    • Maintains superior knowledge of US market access landscape dynamics, keeping self and team up to date on current and emergent trends

    • Ensures team and/or own activities are executed compliantly and with the requisite review, approvals, oversight and documentation. Works in partnership with OEC/Legal and the materials review team to get materials reviewed and approved

    • Flexes team or own approach in anticipation of commercial strategy changes and/or marketplace changes

    • Effectively leads and partners with their direct report, the Manager, MAx L&D

    • Fosters a culture that balances collaboration, high-performance and wellbeing

    • Consistently demonstrates positive AbbVie Ways of Working

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA, or relevant master's degree strongly preferred

    • 5+ Years in Biopharma or Medical Device sales/or market access/or marketing/or patient services/or medical affairs/ or Training and Development role/ or MA eco-system job experience, or 7+ years in an industry-based strategic program leadership, Process Improvement, or Business/Commercial Excellence role

    • Fluency in use of Microsoft Teams meeting platform, advanced use of PowerPoint and Excel

    Desirable Career Experiences

    • Market Access experience (MA Field B2B Sales, MA Marketing, Medical Affairs (Value and Access) or a previous role supporting MA, such as MA T&D, C&P, Market Access Insights, or MA eco-system job experience)

    • Product/Sales training and/or training management experience

    • AbbVie Immunology experience. This AD and their direct report will support The Blue Team portfolio which includes our Immunology portfolio

    • Market Access Marketing or Brand Marketing Experience

    • Pharma. Sales and/or sales leadership experience (RD, NSM, DM, etc.)

    • Competency/Skill curriculum design/leadership development experience

    • Career experiences that demonstrate powerful presentation and influencing skills up and across the stakeholder continuum, gaining buy-in at various stakeholder levels, including executive leaders

    • Experience working with consulting firms and/or creative agencies in the development of training strategy and curriculum/content

    • Should have demonstrated career history of people leadership, including evidence of inspiring, developing, and motivating others

    • Should have developed and led a high-performing team and a clear preference for coaching for development in pursuit of success, with talent management experience

    • Experience in the planning of successful commercial product launch and/or business optimization strategies in Biopharma or access landscape entities, with large program project management

    • The ideal candidate would also already be familiar with AbbVie and our systems, processes, etc.

    This role is based out of AbbVie's Mettawa, IL office and requires the individual to be on-site a minimum of 3 days per work week.
